POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced Product Owner with 8+ years of relevant experience in Product Management to drive the vision, execution, and delivery of our core Healthcare Information Systems. The ideal candidate brings deep domain expertise in Healthcare Claims Lifecycle Management, Regulatory Compliance (HIPAA, PII/PHI safeguards), Property & Casualty (P&C) medical claims integration, and Intelligent Document Processing
(OCR/Document Extraction).

As a hands-on Agile champion, you will fully own all Scrum ceremonies, manage and maintain the Scrum board and Kanban workflows, drive user story grooming, and serve as the critical bridge between business stakeholders, clinical operations, data engineering, and agile delivery teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Agile Practice & Ceremonies Ownership

• • End-to-End Ceremonies Ownership: Actively lead and facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, including Daily Standups, Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement/Grooming, Sprint Reviews/Demos, and Retrospectives.
  • Scrum Board & Kanban Management: Set up, maintain, and optimize digital Scrum boards and Kanban workflows (in Jira or Azure DevOps) to ensure real-time status visibility, manage WIP limits, resolve blockers, and track team velocity.
  • Backlog Grooming & Refinement: Lead structured grooming sessions; break down high-level epics into clear, actionable, and testable user stories with robust Acceptance Criteria (using INVEST criteria and Gherkin format).
  • Delivery & Execution: Ensure continuous delivery by prioritizing work items based on business value, dependencies, and team capacity

Healthcare & Technical Domain Responsibilities

• • Product Strategy & Roadmap: Define and execute the product vision and roadmap for healthcare platforms, claims processing workflows, and intelligent intake solutions.
  • Claims Lifecycle Automation: Drive end-to-end medical and P&C (Workers’ Compensation / Auto Medical) claims workflow optimization, from electronic/paper intake to adjudication and settlement.
  • Intelligent Data Capture (OCR/NLP): Oversee product features using Optical Character Recognition (OCR), Intelligent Document Processing (IDP), and Machine Learning to automate document ingestion (e.g., CMS- 1500, UB-04, EOBs, medical records).
  • Compliance & Security Assurance: Enforce strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines, PII/PHI data handling, SOC 2 compliance, and industry security protocols across all deliverables.
  • Acceptance & Validation: Conduct functional acceptance testing of completed user stories to validate business
    rules and ensure high-quality, production-ready deliverables.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Agile & Scrum Capabilities

• • Agile Leadership: Proven track record of owning and facilitating all Scrum/Agile ceremonies for multi-disciplinary software engineering teams.
  • Tools Proficiency: Advanced expertise in setting up and managing Scrum boards, Kanban boards, dashboards, and release plans in Jira, Confluence, Git or Azure DevOps (ADO).
  • Backlog Management: Expertise in backlog grooming, user story mapping, estimations (Story Points / T-Shirt sizing), and managing dependency maps across teams.

Healthcare Domain & Technical Skills

• • Healthcare & Claims Experience: 8+ years in IT product ownership/management focused on healthcare systems, medical claims processing (EDI 837, 835, 270/271), and medical billing workflows.
  • Regulatory Expertise: Deep understanding of HIPAA privacy/security rules, PHI/PII handling standards, and healthcare compliance requirements.
  • P&C Claims Integration: Hands-on experience or working knowledge of Property & Casualty (P&C) medical claims, injury claims, or casualty insurance workflows.
  • Document Processing & OCR: Experience delivering products that leverage OCR, IDP, or document scanning tools for automated data extraction from medical records and forms.
  • System Integrations: Solid understanding of REST APIs, JSON/XML formats, and healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR, ICD-10/CPT coding structures).

PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS

• Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM).
• Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) is a strong plus.
• Healthcare Compliance Certifications (a plus).
